There is a sense of stillness this time of year.......the shorter days and longer nights encourage us to slow down and take stock of our lives. Just as the natural world pauses, we too are called to turn inward, rest, reflect and nourish our mind, body and soul.
Winter is associated with the element of water, symbolising fluidity and adaptability. Just as water can flow or freeze depending on its environment, we are encouraged to remain flexible and open to change. This adaptability serves us well for navigating the challenges and opportunities that winter brings.
Now is the time to reflect on the past and plan for the future. Throw out old, dated ideas and allow our minds to wander and create new, innovative ones. Just like the sun that is reborn at the Winter Solstice, new possibilities are born within us at this time of year.
Take a moment to ponder areas of your life that feel rushed or chaotic. Imagine bringing winter's calm energy to those moments. How would it feel to slow down, to breathe deeply, to move with intention rather than haste? As the peaceful energy of winter surrounds you, allow yourself to be filled with a sense of renewal and calm.
Many of us find ourselves spending more time indoors so it's a perfect time to pause and immerse ourselves in writing, meditating, reading, creative projects and other soul-nourishing activities. How will you nurture yourself during this season of stillness?
By embracing the lessons and gifts of the season, we can nurture our minds, bodies, and spirits, preparing ourselves for the renewal that spring will bring. As we journey through winter, let us hold onto its wisdom and carry its energy forward into the months ahead.
May you have a wonderful winter season!
Much love & blessings,
Collette xx
